About Charles H. Polk, Ed.D.

Charles H. Polk, Ed.D., has been president of Mountain State University since 1990 and is credited with turning what was originally a fading two-year college into a thriving university. He came to MSU from Daytona Beach Community College, where he became the youngest college president in the U.S. in 1974. He has a B.S. and M.A. in sociology/psychology, both from Stephen F. Austin State University, and an Ed.D. in adult education/college administration from North Carolina State University.
